Steve Lawson scored from the penalty spot

Steve Lawson's penalty gave John Rankin a first win as Hamilton manager as 10-man Arbroath were left bottom of the Scottish Championship.

Thomas O'Brien was shown a straight red for handball as he blocked Lawson's goalbound shot.

The midfielder dispatched his spot kick with ease to send Accies up to seventh.

On-loan Fullham striker Jean Pierre Tiehi and Ryan One had a number chances to increase the hosts' lead in a dominant performance.
