Middlesbrough moved up to 16th in the Championship as they consigned Blackpool to a third consecutive league defeat with a comfortable win at Bloomfield Road.
Isaiah Jones gave the visitors the lead after he turned in from Marcus Forss' cross following some good work from Chuba Akpom in the build-up.
Boro were awarded a penalty shortly after the break and Forss fired in from the spot after he was brought down by Blackpool keeper Chris Maxwell.
Akpom tapped in for Boro's third as the visitors took control, with Blackpool offering little in the way of a response.
Victory for Middlesbrough, their sixth of the season, lifts them above Sunderland into 16th, while Blackpool's poor form continues, as they dropped to 21st, just two points off the relegation places.
Since taking over at Boro, Michael Carrick had put together one loss, one win and a draw from his three games in charge and they took just 15 minutes to take the lead against Blackpool.
Jones scored his third goal of the season to put Boro ahead but Blackpool almost equalised just before the break when Wolves loanee Theo Corbeanu forced a save from Zack Steffen.
Forss' penalty and Akpom's 65th-minute strike put Boro into a comfortable lead, with the latter coming via Ryan Giles' low delivery.
