Maidenhead United 0-1 Gateshead

  • Published

Gateshead moved out of the relegation places as they edged Maidenhead for their first away win of the season.

Maidenhead's Koby Arthur sent a shot over the bar before Adam Campbell had a volley saved at the other end.

The Heed found the opener 22 minutes in when Paul Blackett squared the ball to Dan Ward who slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Maidenhead continued to push and Reece Smith had a chance before Remy Clerima put an effort just wide of the post.

The Magpies nearly equalised in the second half, but Heed goalkeeper Dan Langley tipped Ashley Nathaniel-George's effort wide.

Gateshead had a good chance to wrap up the game with eight minutes left, but Greg Olley's shot smacked against a post.
