Norway 0-2 Serbia: Aleksandar Mitrovic scores as visitors earn Nations League promotion
- Published
Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic scored as Serbia beat Norway to clinch promotion to the top tier of the Nations League.
Needing to win, Mitrovic slotted home Ivan Ilic's pass from 16 yards for his 50th Serbia goal, and sixth in his past four games.
It was his 14th Nations League goal and doubled Serbia's lead after Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic's strike put them ahead.
Serbia have won promotion in two of the three Nations Leagues, having started in League C.
Norway would have been promoted with a point in Oslo.
Mitrovic's 14 goals in the Nations League is a record and he is also the leading goalscorer in this year's tournament. He has scored four goals in his last four away games.
He has now netted 12 goals in his past 11 matches for club and country and 58 in 65 games since the start of last season.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland played the full 90 minutes for Norway, and had four shots, but failed to score for the 10th time in 23 international games.
The other game in Group B4 saw Sweden relegated to League C with a 1-1 draw with Slovenia.
