Northampton Town 1-1 Newport County: Late Hoskins strike earns Cobblers dramatic draw

Newport held out until the dying minutes after Omar Bogle's opener

Sam Hoskins denied Newport County a first victory at promotion-chasing Northampton in 45 years after equalising in the final moments.

Omar Bogle put Newport ahead as he guided home Priestley Farquharson's headed pass after two minutes.

The Cobblers had an appeal for a penalty turned down after Hoskins went down in the area as time wore on.

But Hoskins was not to be denied in added time as Northampton stay third in League Two while Newport remain 18th.
