Queen's Park missed the opportunity to go level on points with Scottish Championship leaders Ayr United as they fell to defeat at Cove Rangers.

Connor Scully scored after just three minutes before finding a second late on to clinch just the fourth victory of the campaign for the hosts.

Jim McIntyre's side earn some much-needed breathing space between themselves and Hamilton Academical, who now lie five points behind in ninth.

Queen's sit fourth on goal difference.
