Yeovil Town 1-0 FC Halifax Town

  • Published

Matt Worthington's late first-half penalty was enough to earn Yeovil a 1-0 victory over Halifax at Huish Park.

Both sides got off to a slow start before Owen Bevan was brought down in the area by a visiting defender and the referee pointed to the spot.

Worthington did not waste the opportunity as he stepped up and sent a strike past Halifax keeper Sam Johnson to put his side ahead on 44 minutes.

The Shaymen looked brighter to start the second half but the hosts were able to fend off a sustained period of pressure in six minutes of stoppage time to seal all three points.
