FA Cup: AFC Wimbledon 0-2 Chesterfield: National League Spireites beat another League Two side

National League Chesterfield reached the FA Cup third round for the second successive season after a deserved win over a lacklustre League Two AFC Wimbledon in their second-round tie.
Armando Dobra led an incisive break and then coolly finished it off to give the Spireites a 44th-minute lead, capping an excellent first half from the visitors.
The Dons, whose best effort saw Ethan Chislett's effort cleared off the line, never really got going and they were unable to counter Chesterfield's all-round industry.
The Spireites comfortably controlled the second half and made sure of another potential glamorous third-round tie when Dons goalkeeper Nik Tzanev misjudged Jeff Kings' speculative cross and watched it sail over his head and into the far corner with 14 minutes to go.
Both sides came into the tie off the back of cracking form. The Dons were unbeaten in 10 games and the Spireites came looking for a sixth win on the spin and it was the non-leaguers who dominated most of the first half with their energy and drive.
After Liam Mandeville's early shot was deflected wide, only a fine finger-tip save from Tzanev denied the visitors the lead as the New Zealand international pushed Joe Quigley's thumping header from Jamie Grimes' cross behind for a corner.
Wimbledon were strangely subdued but nearly went in front against the run of play as Chislett sprung the offside trap, rounded keeper Ross Fitzsimons but saw Mandeville clear excellently off the line.
Chesterfield recovered well from that wobble and took the lead just before the break.
Dobra led a brilliant break from his own half and found Quigley, whose perfectly-weighted return ball was sweetly lifted past Tzanev by the former Ipswich Town player, who scored the winner to knock out League Two side Northampton in the first round.
With only 13 places separating the two sides in the pyramid, Chesterfield continued to show little inferiority in the second half as King and Mike Jones both went close to increasing the lead.
The Dons continued to be off-colour with Harry Pell's wasteful scoop over from substitute Huseyin Biler's cross into the box typical of their afternoon.
With time running out their hopes of making the third round for the sixth time in the past seven seasons were effectively snuffed out as King's fortunate-looking goal decided it.
Seemingly aiming a right-wing cross towards the far post, King saw it end up nestling in the corner after Tzanev got the flight of the ball wrong and was left a helpless spectator.
Their win marked the first time since 1969 that Chesterfield have made it to the third round two seasons in a row and Paul Cook's side would love a repeat of 12 months ago when they landed a trip to Premier League Chelsea.
Chesterfield goal scorer Armando Dobra told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"It was a really, really good performance from the team. I thought we dominated from the first minute to the end.
"They were 10 unbeaten but we're on a run ourselves and we go into every game thinking we're going to win.
"We took our chances really well - I won it off the full-back, drove in and found Quigsey [Joe Quigley], the centre-half's gone with him and left a big space for me and I've taken it and put it in the back of the net.
"Hopefully we can get a big team in the next round - I support Manchester United so United away would be good."
AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson:
"It was a pretty flat performance from us considering where we've been. We perhaps paid the price of the tough schedule and the run of games we've had.
"We feared it might take its toll at some stage. We had moments and it could have been different in certain situations but that doesn't represent where we've been as a team.
"The FA Cup is special to the club. We tried to win the game but came up against a really good team, they've got league quality all over the pitch."
