Architects of Welsh successes over the last decade, Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey - now both in their 30s - have had fitness issues and limited club football in recent seasons

BBC Sport website users would stick with Gareth Bale for Tuesday's must-win World Cup game against England - but Aaron Ramsey is not in your first XI.

Bale was voted Wales' worst player in your player-rater for Friday's 2-0 defeat against Iran.

You would also leave out defenders Chris Mepham and Connor Roberts who have started both Wales' group games.

Voters instead back the attacking pace of Brennan Johnson and Daniel James for Tuesday's final Group B match.

Wales must beat England by four goals to guarantee a place in the knockout stages, although any win would be enough if Iran and the USA draw their game.

Despite Bale only receiving 2.56 out of 10 from BBC Sport website users last week, more than 70% of you would still include Wales' most-capped male player and all-time leading goalscorer for what may be his last World Cup match.

Former Cardiff City and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has fewer caps than Bale, 77 compared to 110, but absences from Wales line-ups over his 14-year international career have previously been because of fitness not form.

With Wayne Hennessey suspended after his red card against Iran, an overwhelming majority of you would choose Danny Ward as Wales' goalkeeper.

Only Ward and defender Ben Davies feature in more than 90% of selections.

Having returned from long-term injury against Iran, midfielder Joe Allen was chosen by 67% of voters for this game. Only Johnson and Wilson received fewer votes but still made your top 11 players.

Their inclusion, however, in the most popular 4-3-3 formation suggests Wales fans want to take the game to England, as they search for the goals to keep them in only their second World Cup finals.
