Kyle Knoyle's second-half goal was enough to secure a 1-0 away win for Doncaster Rovers at Newport County.

Joe Day denied Doncaster's Harrison Biggins with a smart save at the end of a first half of few chances.

The Exiles keeper was on hand once more to stop George Miller who was through one-on-one, but could do nothing to stop Knoyle's 58th minute strike.

Victory moves Doncaster within two points of the League Two play-off places while Newport remain in 18th.

Newport County manager Graham Coughlan told BBC Sport Wales:

"I thought we were terrible, we're all angry.

"That performance is not like us, it's not what we've been serving up the last six or seven weeks so we need to go away, analyse it, and see why we had so many players not at the races today.

"It's obviously disappointing, not just for me but for the fans as well, they've had an off day."
