Newport County scored in injury time to salvage a 2-2 draw against League Two strugglers Crawley Town.

Dom Telford scored twice as he came back to haunt his former club, the first from close range and then a second from the penalty spot after Scot Bennett fouled Nick Tsaroulla.

Matty Dolan produced a power header to set up a breathless finale.

Fellow substitute Offrande Zanzala then earned his team a point with a close range header.

County manager Graham Coughlan and Crawley coach Darren Byfield were sent-off as tempers flared during the closing minutes.

Crawley, who came so close to celebrating their first win on the road this season, are 20th in the table, while County are 18th.

Coughlan told BBC Sport Wales there was an "element of tiredness" in their performance."

"When you are looking at a group of lads in form and playing the way they have been playing, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and allowed them to keep the jerseys.

"But in hindsight, I have to hold my hand up, I should have probably made several changes to freshen the team up because they have been working extremely hard.

"I don't think the character and the resilience of the lads was ever in doubt."

Speaking of his red card, Coughlan added: "I am due an apology for what I was accused of, until that comes through I'll make no further comment.
