Simon Murray now has 18 goals for the season

Simon Murray scored four as Queen's Park tore Cove Rangers apart to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship to four points.

For the second successive game, Cove shipped six goals in a horror return for manager Paul Hartley in the first game of his second stint in charge.

Murray scored twice before the break, with Jake Davidson also netting.

And the striker added two further goals just after the hour before Grant Savoury scored the sixth.

Queen's Park have now won their last eight games in all competitions and are four clear of Ayr United and Dundee in their first season in the second tier.

Cove remain eighth but, with both teams below them losing, they stay clear of the relegation places.
