Substitute Tom Bayliss struck with an 89th-minute winner as Shrewsbury beat struggling MK Dons to earn their third League One victory in a row.
It was a smash-and-grab success for Salop, who had little of the ball at Stadium MK. But a fifth away win of the season lifts Steve Cotterill's side up to ninth in the table, five points off the play-off places.
Dons started the brighter - and it needed a good save from Shrewsbury goalkeeper Marko Marosi to keep out Mo Eisa's curling effort from outside the box.
Lively new boy Jonathan Leko then fired a shot over from distance on the half-hour in a first half largely lacking in quality.
Dons continued to do much of the pressing after the restart, with Eisa having a free kick deflected narrowly over, but clear-cut chances remained at a premium.
But, just when it looked as though a forgettable encounter would end in stalemate, half-time substitute Bayliss stole the points for Shrewsbury, slotting past Jamie Cumming after being played in by fellow sub Ryan Bowman.
