AFC Wimbledon and Newport had drawn 1-1 in the meeting at Plough Lane on Boxing Day.

Newport County came from behind to claim a point against an AFC Wimbledon side who are without a win in nine games.

Ali Al-Hamadi pounced on a loose ball to score his sixth goal in as many games to give the visitors the lead.

Harry Charsley levelled for Newport in the second half with a left-footed drive.

The Dons are 16th in League Two, three points above 18th-placed County, who are 11 points clear of the bottom two.

Newport County assistant manager Joe Dunne said:

"I felt we were off it in the first half quite badly and we just didn't get anything going and obviously we had to have a big chat at half-time and spoke to the players about how we could get back into game.

"We've shown that in previous games and something that we're good at .. great credit to the team to come back. The second half was much better. Business end of the season every point counts.

"We're pleased with Harry getting another goal - he's scored a couple recently."
