Newport's Mickey Demetriou celebrates their equaliser with Nathan Moriah-Welsh and Cameron Norman

Bradford's hopes of pressing their claims for automatic promotion stalled as they were held to a draw at Newport.

The Bantams went ahead when Andy Cook shrugged off Priestley Farquharson and Mickey Demetriou before slotting home his 23rd goal of the season.

City's Joe Day made a fine save to deny Sam Stubbs before County's Harry Charsley slid an effort over the top.

Newport equalised when Demetriou's cross from the right flicked off Liam Ridehalgh and bounced over Harry Lewis.

Nathan Moriah-Welsh and Cameron Norman both came close to forcing a winner for the hosts, who remain 18th in the League Two table.

Bradford slipped to sixth, four points behind third-placed Stevenage.
