Two goals in five first-half minutes set Newport County up for victory at Tranmere Rovers in League Two.
Aaron Wildig put the Exiles ahead after 25 minutes at Prenton Park, before on-loan striker Charlie McNeill doubled the lead with his first for the club.
Substitute Calum Kavanagh added a third late on to secure the win, despite Regan Hendry's late consolation.
Victory moves Newport up to 17th, 12 points clear of relegation, while mid-table Tranmere drop down to 14th.
Newport manager Graham Coughlan told BBC Sport Wales: "It was always going to be a big challenge, but I thought the boys were outstanding - each and every one of them.
"And I thought the bench had a huge contribution as well, it was a really good team performance and we want more.
"It's a valuable win and really good performance."
