Raith Rovers 2-0 Queen's Park: Lead at top down to one point as host move to sixth

Queen's Park lead at the top of the Scottish Championship is down to one point after they lost to Raith Rovers.

Centre-half Tom Lang's flicked near-post header at a well-worked corner gave Rovers a half-time lead.

Forward Lewis Vaughan's lovely strike ensured a victory as Rovers went 10 home games unbeaten.

Dom Thomas had a tame penalty saved for the visitors, who played the final 10 minutes with ten men after Charlie Fox received a straight red card.

Dundee's 7-0 thrashing of Hamilton Academical has Gary Bowyer's side hot on the heels of the leaders.

Rovers move up to sixth, seven points behind Partick Thistle in fourth, but crucially have two games in hand.

Raith Rovers manager Ian Murray: "I thought we were excellent. The intensity we went after the ball was incredible. Across the park, we closed them down, we didn't give them a second to get the ball down.

"The boys were determined to put last Sunday right. They've been bang at it this week and they were at it this afternoon."

Queen's Park head coach Owen Coyle: "We didn't play to the level we are capable of playing. We didn't pass the ball around like we are known for.

"Everything is still in our hands, we've come a long way in a short time, but we don't want to stop now."
