Grant Savoury's excellent right-footed strike was the difference between the sides

Queen's Park secured a vital win in the fight for the Scottish Championship title as they edged past Hamilton Academical at Ochilview.

Neither goalkeeper was particularly troubled in a cagey first half, and it took a moment of real quality after the break to separate the sides.

Grant Savoury took one touch to control on the edge of the box, before drilling his shot into the bottom corner past Ryan Fulton. Jake Davidson hit the post shortly after, but Owen Coyle's side hung on for all three points.

Queen's are now level on points with Dundee at the top of the table having played a game more, while Hamilton remain ninth, two points above bottom side Cove Rangers.
