Altrincham 2-2 Torquay United: Late Alty draw scuppers Gulls' survival hopes

Torquay United's National League survival hopes are all but over after conceding a last-minute equaliser to draw at Altrincham.
Asa Hall's double had seemed to have kept the Gulls' dreams alive before Zak Goodson's late spot-kick.
Tom Lapslie and Frank Nouble went close for the Gulls in the first half before Regan Linney ended a fine counter-attack by firing home Aaron Bennett's pass to put Alty ahead.
Bennett had an effort cleared off the line before Hall levelled affairs as he poked home from a corner and the Torquay skipper struck a superb 25-yard effort 10 minutes later to put Gary Johnson's side ahead.
But Goodson was fouled in the area in the final minute and stepped up to calmly slot past Mark Halstead for a point.
The draw means Torquay are three points off Maidenhead United and York City - but will need a miracle to survive.
Torquay must beat Wrexham on the final day and reverse a goal difference deficit of seven to reel in Maidenhead, while York would need a 14-goal swing against them to drop below the Gulls.
