Shrewsbury Town have signed Huddersfield Town striker Kieran Phillips on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old, who came through the ranks at Everton's academy before joining the Terriers in 2020, previously played under Town boss Matt Taylor at Walsall in 2021-22.

"There was a lot of competition for him from teams higher in the league than we are," said Taylor.

"He'll score goals without a problem. He gives a different dynamic up front."

Phillips, who played with fellow Town teammates Morgan Feeney and Joe Anderson while at Everton, said: "Matt Taylor was a massive draw in me coming here. When he first got the job it spiked my interest straight away. I enjoyed working with him at Walsall."

He becomes Shrewsbury's 12th signing of the summer transfer window.
