Ryan Fraser & Mason Holgate: Newcastle United winger and Everton defender join Southampton on loan

Championship side Southampton have signed winger Ryan Fraser from Newcastle and defender Mason Holgate from Everton on season-long loans.
Fraser, 29, made eight appearances for the Magpies last season but boasts a wealth of top-tier experience with them and AFC Bournemouth.
Holgate, 26, played 126 times for the Toffees but struggled for playing time under current boss Sean Dyche.
The duo become the Saints' fifth and sixth signings of the summer window.
Fraser has scored 18 goals in 173 Premier League games, with a further eight goals in 76 Championship outings across his time with Newcastle and Bournemouth and a loan stint at Ipswich Town.
"He has great pace, but also plays with intelligence so he will fit into our system very well," director of football Jason Wilcox told the club website, external.
"He also knows what it takes to win promotion from the Championship."
Holgate became a first-team regular under Carlos Ancelotti and Rafael Benitiez at Goodison Park following a loan spell with West Bromwich Albion during the 2018-19 season.
The former England Under-21 player made nine appearances for the Toffees in the Premier League and EFL Cup in the 2022-23 campaign.
"I did have other opportunities, but I just think the way the manager comes across and the style of football that he plays is suited to me to a tee," Holgate said, external.
"The passion that he spoke with, I just felt like I was wanted, which has been very important for me, because there's been points over the last few years where I've not really felt like that."
