Spain Under-21s maintained their winning start in Group B against Scotland

Scotland succumbed to a late goal as they opened their European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign with defeat against Spain in Jaen.

Ben Doak tested home goalkeeper Pablo Cunat from a tight angle early on.

Lyall Cameron also threatened for the visitors while Pablo Torres' effort for Spain hit the outside of the post.

But, with seven minutes remaining, Benat Turrientes' header from a Torres cross ensured Spain made it two wins out of two.

Elsewhere in Group B, Belgium defeated Kazakhstan 1-0.

Scot Gemmill's Scots host Hungary and Malta at Motherwell's Fir Park next month. Spain, who opened with a 6-0 win over Malta last week, visit Kazakhstan in mid-October.
