Airdrieonians 1-2 Ayr United: Chalmers & Dowds score in away win
- Published
Ayr United climbed further away from the bottom of the Scottish Championship as they saw off Airdrieonians.
Lee Bullen's side found a first-half lead when a deep ball to the back-post was tapped home by Logan Chalmers.
Anton Dowds scored in his third successive game with a rifled strike past Joshua Rae to double the lead.
Lewis McGregor pulled one back for the hosts, but their failure to find a leveller leaves them in fifth, while Ayr are in eighth.
