Two late goals from Steven Fletcher and Jordan Davies saw Wrexham snatch a thrilling victory from Salford City.

Salford struck first, Stephen Mallan crossing to the back post for Matt Smith to head home.

Matty Lund doubled Salford's lead when Arthur Okonkwo could only parry a cross, although Elliot Lee pulled a goal back, heading in a corner.

Fletcher turned home Paul Mullin's cross to level, before Davies struck to send the home crowd into a frenzy.

Wrexham move up to fifth, three points behind League Two leaders Stockport County, while Salford drop to 15th after having their three-match winning streak ended in dramatic fashion.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:

"I'm so pleased with the win, it was one of those days where the sun was low and there was a bit of a lacklustre feel to the game.

"We didn't play with the quality I wanted in that first period but we still had some good moments and some good chances.

"I felt if we got it to 2-2 the momentum would be really with us and we'd go on and win the game and that's what happened.

"And special mention to the subs because on days like that where you just need a lift of tempo and energy they really gave us it."
