Truro City boss Paul Wotton says "15 minutes of madness" cost his side three points at high-flying Worthing.

Ed Palmer's early goal put Truro ahead but Joe Felix levelled after 54 minutes before Worthing had Luca Woodhouse sent off nine minutes later.

Despite being a man down, Worthing went in front through Ollie Pearce's 75th-minute penalty, but Felix was sent off with six minutes to go.

Against nine, Truro's pressure paid off as Ryan Brett equalised in added time.

"It was a crazy old game, that's for sure," Wotton told BBC Radio Cornwall..

"First half we were excellent, we went 1-0 up and needed the second goal really.

"They had a man sent off and it really affected us, we had 15 minutes of madness really, conceded a couple of goals and we just needed to settle back into the game.

"The last 10 minutes they had another man sent off and it was inevitable the pressure paid off.

"You'd take a point away to Worthing before the game and I'm glad we didn't lose because it would have been a tough one to take, overall a point's probably a fair result."

The draw left Truro 13th in National League South after 12 games and ended a run of three successive league and cup losses in which the White Tigers failed to score a goal.

"We're a quarter of the way though the season, we're a newly promoted side, we're sitting 13th in the league, and if you'd have said to me would I have taken that before the start of the season absolutely, I'd have bitten your hand off for it," added Wotton.

"We're getting to grips with it, we're fearing no-one.

"We can compete, we know that. We've got two weeks off now and hopefully we can get some players back because we're a very small squad.

"That club's brilliant, they provide me with stuff, but we're not rich - Worthing are full time and have a massive budget - and we're competing with them, so overall we're doing really well."
