Delight for Erin McLaughlin after making his first appearance for the Republic against Zambia in June

Erin McLaughlin has been brought into the Republic of Ireland squad for the Women's Nations League double-header against Albania later this month.

The 20-year-old Peamount United midfielder made her Republic debut in the friendly win over Zambia in June.

Niamh Fahey, Aoife Mannion, Claire Walsh, Tara O'Hanlon, Roma McLaughlin, Jess Ziu and Leanne Kiernan are all ruled out because of injury.

The Republic top their group after winning their two opening games.

Interim manager Eileen Gleeson saw her side start with a 4-0 away win over Hungary followed by a 3-0 victory against Northern Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.

Gleeson has named a 26-strong squad for the 27 October encounter against third-placed Albania at Tallaght Stadium and the return match in Shkoder four days later.

McLaughlin is called into the squad after helping Peamount win the Women's Premier Division title with two games to spare.
