Wrexham have triggered the one-year extension option in Sam Dalby's contract at the Stok Racecourse.

The 23-year-old striker's previous deal was due to expire next summer but he will now remain with the League Two club until 2025.

"I'm really excited. I love it here. I've loved it from the start - everyone was really welcoming," said Dalby.

"Obviously we're building something big here, so it's a pleasure to be a part of."

"We had a great season last year, and we're building on it already, and I'm just looking forward to the rest of the season," he added.

Dalby joined Wrexham from Southend United in 2022 and helped the club clinch the National League title in his first campaign in north Wales.

He scored eight goals in 46 appearances across all competitions for Wrexham last season.

Discussing Dalby's new deal, boss Phil Parkinson said: "We were always going to extend Sam's contract because he is a good young striker who is only going to get better.

"He's got a lot of potential, and we are looking forward to continue working with him."
