Goals from Elliot Lee and Ollie Palmer within four second-half minutes earned Wrexham an away victory against promotion rivals Notts County.

After a glut of chances had gone to waste, Lee broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute with a clinical strike - his 10th goal of the season.

Palmer then added the second from close range in the 76th minute.

Wrexham go level on 30 points with second-placed Notts, five behind leaders Stockport County.

It was Wrexham's second straight win over Notts, following the 3-2 comeback victory at the Racecourse Ground on Easter Monday which all but sealed the National League title against their season-long promotion rivals.

Notts County boss Luke Williams:

"I'm not disappointed with any of the players. The level of the opposition is so high, and you must play extremely well to even be in a game with Wrexham.

"We played overall well but it was difficult to create clear openings because they defended so well.

"Open chances were at a premium. Their goals are not completely open chances. In the end, one goal between the two teams is probably fair."

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson:

"It's up there in terms of wins in my time as a manager at Wrexham because we've had a lot of disruption this week.

"To have all that disruption and put in a performance like we did is enormous credit to the lads and Notts are a good side - we know that.

"But the way the lads implemented the game plan we set out was outstanding and it was a really important three points for us."
