A muscle injury means Rachel Rowe has not travelled with the Wales squad for their Nations League match in Germany.

The 31-year-old midfielder missed her club side Rangers' victory over Celtic on Sunday.

Rowe's injury will also keep her out of Tuesday's trip to Denmark, though Wales boss Gemma Grainger does not expect her absence to be long term.

Wales, who are bottom of Group A3 after losing their first two games, have an otherwise fully fit squad.

"We are obviously disappointed that Rachel has had to stay at home," Grainger said.

"But one of the things I have focused on is depth in the squad and now we have that, which maybe we didn't when I first took the job.

"We have two, three or four players who can step into the position, so we want Rachel to recover as quickly as possible, but I am really excited for the opportunity it gives other players."

Grainger expects Rowe to return in time for Wales' final Nations League games, with a home double-header against Iceland on 1 December and Germany on 5 December.

"It's a small injury, it's right she stays at home, but we are hopeful we will have her back for then," Grainger added.
