Oliver Finney: Midfielder leaves Hartlepool United after rape charge

Midfielder Oliver Finney joined Hartlepool United from Crewe Alexandra in January

OIiver Finney has left National League side Hartlepool United, after he was charged with raping a woman.

The 25-year-old midfielder faces one allegation, which is said to have happened in Cheshire in 2022.

Cheshire Police said he has been summonsed to appear at Cheshire Magistrates' Court on 13 November.

Finney, who had scored two goals in 20 games for Pools, joined from Crewe Alexandra in January of this year and was suspended in light of the charge.
