Brentford striker Ivan Toney is "happy to stay" at the club, according to manager Thomas Frank.

Toney, 27, is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaching the Football Association's betting rules.

The ban ends in January, by which time he will have 18 months left on his Brentford contract, and there are reports Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing him.

"He [Toney] is happy at the club," Frank said.

"I want him to stay. Ivan is happy to stay. He's happy at the club. What happens in the future is impossible to guess about."

Toney first signed for Brentford in 2020 on a five-year deal and aided the club to top-flight promotion in his first season.

In the 2022-23 season he scored 20 goals in 33 Premier League appearances and his form saw him win his first cap for England in March.

His goalscoring ability is just one reason Frank wants Toney to stay at the club, with the boss adding: "Ivan's skillset in terms of finishing, composure in those moments, link-up play, presence, character...

"He is a very good package. It's not for me to put a price tag on him, it is down to the club. I'm happy with him and I hope he plays here forever."
