Are Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, Paul Mullin heading to the Premier League?

Ollie Palmer and Ben Tozer struck against Gillingham to send Wrexham into second place in the League Two table.

Palmer eased any nerves over striker Paul Mullin's absence through suspension as he hit the target in the first minute.

Tozer met Jacob Mendy's cross to add the second 70 minutes later.

The visitors were unable to reply in new boss Stephen Clemence's first league game in charge since succeeding Neil Harris.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson:

"Very pleased. I thought it was a strong, professional performance.

"With a manger leaving and a new manager coming in at Gillingham, there's always that chance of a lift so it was always going to be a potentially tricky game.

"But I think over 90 minutes we restricted them to very little and got the two important goals.!
