Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt says his side will have to get used to the pressure of being expected to win every game, as their winning run continued.

Evatt, 41, has claimed the League One manager of the month award for October, the first time he has won the honour, after their fine form during the month.

Wanderers are third, with 10 wins in 13 games across all competitions.

"We want to make a stand and show everyone what we can do," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"We've spoken at length about being involved in these kinds of games, and if we were to achieve anything near to our ambition this season this is going to be a regular occurrence.

"Every game is going to carry a huge weight of expectation. Every game we're going to have to fight, because we've got a huge target on our back because of where we are in the league table."

Evatt previously won the League Two manager of the month award on two occasions, but he had yet to win the award in the third tier.

Tuesday's 2-0 win against Shrewsbury continued their impressive run as they kept pace with leaders Portsmouth and second-placed Oxford United.

"I'm really fortunate to be head of the football department, but it is a department and it takes everybody to put a shift in," he added.

"My staff, the players, the chefs, everyone puts an enormous amount of effort in to make this club successful.

"When I get these awards it's really for all of us. It's easily said but I genuinely mean that. It's a massive team effort.

"The players have to go out and execute our ideas and they've been doing that great of late."
