Josh Emmanuel: Carlisle sign ex-Grimsby defender until end of season

Carlisle United have signed defender Josh Emmanuel, who left Grimsby Town at the end of last season, on a deal until the end of the campaign.
The 26-year-old Londoner, who joined the Mariners in January, had previously been at Hull but illness limited his involvement to 38 games in two seasons.
Emmanuel started out with Ipswich before joining Bolton, and went on loan to Crawley, Rotherham and Shrewsbury.
"He's a player who I've always liked," Cumbrians boss Paul Simpson said.
"I've watched him on numerous occasions so when I heard that he was available I asked him to come up.
"It was such a contrast to what I've experienced with a number of other free agents. Josh automatically said he wanted to come up and train, asked when I wanted him to come in and said he was going to drive straight up. His enthusiasm to come was a real breath of fresh air."
