Kilmarnock's first away win of the Premiership season has intensified the pressure on Aberdeen boss Barry Robson

Manager Barry Robson says there is "no panic" at Aberdeen and the club is "united" as he battles to save his job.

Aberdeen were booed off at Pittodrie in midweek after the 1-0 midweek defeat by Kilmarnock left them second bottom.

Pressure is building on Robson, who has led the club to just three wins in 14 league games this season.

The 45-year-old, whose side host Hearts on Saturday, said he does not fear for his position but knows "if you don't win games, managers lose their job".

Robson says he speaks to chairman Dave Cormack and the board "all the time". "What I would say is, the club, there is no panic," he said.

"The board have been terrific and Dave has backed the club, as he has always done since he has been here. When we were winning lots of games, I spoke to Dave all the time, he has been fine.

"He has put a lot into the club and we just have to start performing, myself and the players, in making sure we can get up the table."

Aberdeen have turned in creditable performances in the Europa Conference League - but are out of the running for qualification from their group - and have a Viaplay Cup final with Rangers looming on 17 December.

However, the poor league form has turned the spotlight on Robson, who has rebuffed any suggestion that Saturday's visit of Hearts is a potential win or bust for his tenure.

"No, I think, when I came into the job, it was a win or bust for me every game as well, so it is something I am used to and is nothing new," he added.

"What you can't get away from is just focusing on being a good squad, a good unit, everybody together and make sure you concentrate on what we want to do.

"The players have done that and we have to come out tomorrow, perform well and try and get those points that we need."

The season has yet to reach its halfway point, but four Premiership managers have already been sacked. Asked if he was fearful about his future, Robson said: "No, do I know we need to win games? 100%."
