Greenock Morton secured their second Scottish Championship win inside five days, despite having George Oakley sent off against Queen's Park.
Robbie Muirhead struck from close range to give Morton an eighth-minute lead.
Oakley was dismissed just before half-time after a foul on Jack Thomson.
Kirk Broadfoot's foul on Tyler French resulted in a penalty in first-half added time but Ruari Paton's spot-kick was saved and the Spiders are two points adrift at the foot of the table.
