Blackpool's FA Cup second-round tie against Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday will be played to a finish with extra time and penalties if necessary.

Forest Green fielded an ineligible player in their first-round replay win over Scarborough Athletic leading to the game having to be replayed.

That led to the second-round tie at Bloomfield Road being postponed.

League Two strugglers Forest Green beat Scarborough again this week to set up the meeting at Blackpool.

The winners will travel to Premier League Nottingham Forest in round three.

In response to the original second-round tie being postponed the day before it was scheduled to take place on 2 December, Blackpool boss Neil Critchley branded the Football Association as "incompetent" and claimed the body showed his club a "lack of respect".

In a statement, the FA said Forest Green had breached FA Cup rule 109 and had subsequently admitted the charge, leading them to play Scarborough again in a one-off match.
