Airdrieonians and Greenock Morton battled to a drab goalless Scottish Championship draw in the pouring rain at Excelsior Stadium.

Morton were looking for a fourth successive league win, but both sides struggled to get shots on goal.

The home side thought they had claims for a penalty when Lewis McGregor went down in the box late in the second half, but no decision came.

Airdrie are seventh after their first point in four games.
