Alan Sheehan is set for further talks with Swansea City's owners as the club continues its search for a new head coach.

Sheehan has overseen six matches since the club sacked Michael Duff on 4 December.

But their pursuit of a new boss has proven frustrating, with top target Chris Davies opting against taking charge in south Wales.

"I know the process that they're [owners] going through," Sheehan said.

"The board have been good to me, they share everything with me.

"I know there's a lot of people interested in this job.

"Right now, until they're adamant they have the right man, I'm going to keep leading this team.

"I'll speak to them again tomorrow and we'll see where we are."

Swansea ended 2023 with a hard fought 2-2 draw at Coventry City.

Sheehan admitted he was proud of his squad for the way they responded to being hammered 5-0 by Russell Martin's Southampton on Boxing Day - although he was less than impressed with the match officials, claiming both of Coventry's goals should have been disallowed.

"I feel hard done by with the goals we conceded," he added.

"Referee decisions, I expect apologies, we've already kind of had one.

"The first goal is offside by quite a margin, and the second goal I believe is a foul on Matt Grimes.

"That being said, all the chips down, they kept going until the end. I'm so proud of them tonight for sticking together."

Swansea fans aimed chants of "get out of our club" towards the club's owners during the match.

A banner reading "Watson Out", aimed at sporting director Paul Watson, was also displayed in the away section.

But caretaker boss Sheehan - who also confirmed he has not been asked if he wants to occupy the managerial role on a permanent basis - swiftly leapt to the defence of Watson in the aftermath of his side's draw in the west Midlands.

"Paul is somebody I've known as a player and a coach at Luton," he said.

"He's meticulous in his work and he's determined to give the Swansea City fans a team to be proud of."

Swansea return to action against West Bromwich Albion (15:00 GMT) on New Year's Day.
