Wrexham missed an opportunity to close the gap on the League Two leaders as the points were shared away at MK Dons.
James McLean put Wrexham ahead with a diving header before Dan Kemp lashed home from 12 yards to level for Dons.
Dons captain Dean Lewington - on his 900th appearance for the club - was sent off on the hour mark after a confrontation with referee Sam Purkiss.
And both sides finished with 10 men as Will Boyle picked up a second yellow card late in the game for a foul.
MK Dons remain in fifth in League Two, three points behind Wrexham who stay in third.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson told BBC Radio Wales:
"It was some game of football, two good sides again, I was pleased with the early exchanges, our pressing was good.
"We got the goal and out of nothing they got one back, their goal gave them a lift and Arthur Okonkwo has had to make some good save.
"Second half I thought we played really well, at 11 v 10 we looked like we were going to score so the Boyle sending off evened the game up which is a shame."
