Fern Burrage-Male has taken over as manager of Cardiff City Ladies following the sacking of Gemma Donnelly as boss.

Former Pontypridd Town manager and Cardiff City Ladies player, Burrage-Male was appointed as Donnelly's assistant at the start of October 2023.

"We can confirm that Gemma Donnelly's contract as first-team manager has been terminated," said a club statement.

"Fern brings a wealth of experience that we believe will be invaluable."

Cardiff are currently ninth in the 12-team FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, having won two and drawn three of their 10 league games so far this season.

Burrage-Male also has cross-sport experience as Welsh Netball's performance lead.
