Tottenham have signed Sweden attacking midfielder Matilda Vinberg on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Vinberg, 20, joins Spurs after her contract with Swedish champions Hammarby IF expired at the end of their domestic season in November.

She has played four times for Sweden and made her professional debut with Enskede IK when she was 15.

The move is subject to Vinberg receiving a work permit and international clearance.

In 2022, Vinberg was named the Swedish league's breakthrough player of the year and won Hammarby's player of the year award.

Tottenham are sixth in the Women's Super League as it pauses for a winter break.

Vinberg's first game could come against Sheffield United in the Women's FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, 14 January.
