League Two Morecambe have signed former Ipswich winger Gwion Edwards on a deal until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old had been without a club since he was released by Wigan in the summer.

Edwards is a product of the Swansea youth system and also had spells at Crawley and Peterborough.

He was part of the Wigan side which won promotion to the Championship in 2021-22 but was loaned out to Ross County the following season.

Wales youth international Edwards told the Morecambe website, external: "I like to play attacking football, [taking] crosses and shots, so set some goals up and get some goals myself.

"If I'm assisting and scoring goals, I'm doing my job."
