Reading boss Ruben Selles has been fined by the FA after failing to observe a touchline ban.

The Royals boss picked up his third caution of the season after full-time at Cheltenham on 29 December.

However he was not told of an automatic ban and took charge of the League One win over Exeter on 1 January.

The FA ruling means Selles misses Tuesday's EFL Trophy game against Brighton Under-21s with lead coach James Oliver-Pearce in charge.

At a hearing the club accepted breaching FA Rules E10 and E12 and the panel concluded Selles would still serve the ban in addition to receiving a fine of £4,200.

The club also received a warning with regards to its future conduct, and has been fined £2,500.
