Hearts have signed "exciting" Jamaica defender Dexter Lembikisa on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old right-back spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Rotherham United in the English Championship, making 27 appearances.

Lembikisa, who has 14 caps, made his Wolves debut last term and has featured four times for the Premier League club.

"I'm really pleased to get Dexter in so early in the window," said Hearts head coach Steven Naismith.

"His progression over the past year has been massive. He's played the first half of this season at a high level down south and he's also become a regular on the international scene for Jamaica.

"We're confident he can come to Hearts and make an impact over the next five months."

Lembikisa becomes Hearts' first signing of the January window and strengthens their right-back options, with Australian international Nathanial Atkinson currently at the Asian Cup and Odel Offiah having returned to Brighton.
