Wrexham's former Wales international Hannah Keryakoplis has retired at the age of 29 because of injury.
Keryakoplis, who won 20 Wales caps, joined Wrexham last summer but has since been frustrated by a knee ligament problem.
She previously played for Liverpool, Birmingham City, Stoke City and Derby County.
"It has been a very difficult decision to make after a frustrating season for me personally," Keryakoplis said.
"But I have to be realistic about and also protect my future health.
"As well as what was best for me, I hope the timing of the decision will assist the club in being able to assess their options in the transfer window."
Keryakoplis, from Penyffordd in Flintshire, played top-flight football for Liverpool and Birmingham.
She played in midfield during her brief spell at Wrexham, but has also operated as a striker.
"Our thanks go to the medical team and to Hannah for their work while she has been out injured, and we are sorry that she has had to take this very difficult decision," said Wrexham boss Steve Dale.
"Hannah deserves great credit for her career, during which she has played at the highest level and flown the flag for north Wales on the biggest stages."
