Manager Brian Graham says Partick Thistle will "not just turn up to have a day out" when his part-time players take on Rangers in the SWPL Cup final.

Thistle defied the odds to beat full-time Hibernian in the semi-final.

Graham believes Rangers are "probably the best team in the country at the moment" but says Thistle will go to Tynecastle intent on claiming the cup.

"It doesn't matter that Rangers are flying high this year - it is a cup final, anything can happen," he said.

"Maybe people didn't expect us to beat a full-time team in Hibs. We are there on merit and we will be going to the game to win."

The date of the match has been moved from 23 March to the following day to avoid a fixture clash for Graham and fans of the Glasgow club - for whom this is a first cup final in 53 years.

Graham also plays for the men's team, who are scheduled to play away at Arbroath in the Scottish Championship on the original date for the final.

He believes part-time Thistle's progress may have surprised the organisers - but is delighted with his side's winning mentality.

"We predominantly play on a Sunday. Maybe it wasn't looked at that a part-time side could reach a final but it just shows how well my girls are doing," he told the BBC's Women's Football Weekly podcast.

"We are competing to finish in the top six [of the SWPL] for the second consecutive season, we have found ourselves in a cup final and we are still in the Scottish Cup.

"One of the biggest things for me when I took this job was changing the mindset that even though we are a part-time club, no matter who we are playing, we can get a result.

"That is not gong to change, we are not just turning up to a cup final to have a day out, we are turning up to win."
