Bolton have signed Swansea City wing-back Nathanael Ogbeta on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old Manchester City youth product is a former England under-20 international.

He also has extensive league experience from a season at Shrewsbury and a loan at Peterborough in 2022-23.

The Salford-born player has been brought in by Wanderers after Randell Williams suffered a hamstring injury in Tuesday's win over Cheltenham.

Ogbeta's spell at Peterborough last season was cut short by a quad injury and he has yet to play a game for Swansea this season following a long recovery period.

But he is expected to go straight into the Bolton squad for Saturday's trip to Carlisle, and manager Ian Evatt beleives he will increase competition for places at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Evatt told the club website: "Last season he had a really impressive spell at Peterborough.

"His performances were excellent. He's very much the type of player we want and need for that position. He comes in to add competition for places and to make us better and I think he does that.

"We've probably needed to make this move more urgently because of the Randell scenario but that happens in football and that's not to say they can't play together at some point as I think either could play either side.

"Nathanael is a player we've looked at for the past couple of windows who wasn't available then. He's available to us now and we've been lucky enough to make it happen."
