Burton Albion have signed MK Dons forward Jonathan Leko on loan for the remainder of the League One season.

The 24-year-old's move to the Pirelli Stadium come a year after Leko joined MK Dons for an undisclosed fee from Championship side Birmingham.

Leko, a former England Under-20 international who has played for West Brom, Bristol City and Charlton, is Burton's fourth January arrival.

"He comes here with a point to prove," said Burton boss Martin Paterson.

"And we want to give him the platform to showcase his abilities."

Leko has featured 28 times for League Two side MK Dons this season, scoring four goals, but says he is stepping up a division now looking to "play regular games, get goals and get assists".

Meanwhile, winger Mustapha Carayol has signed a new deal to remain with the Brewers until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old former Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough player has signed his fourth short-term deal since first arriving in the summer of 2022.

He has made 53 appearances for the League One side.
