Ayr Utd 1-2 Dundee Utd: Leaders fight back to move four clear at top
- Published
Scottish Championship leaders Dundee United fought back from a goal down to beat Ayr United and move four points clear at the top of the table.
Jamie Murphy had Scott Brown's side one up within the first two minutes at Somerset Park, but Tony Watt equalised for the away side just after the hour.
The game looked to be heading for a draw until former Ayr captain Ross Docherty found a late crucial winner.
Ayr, who remain sixth, ended with 10 men as George Stanger was dismissed.
The centre-back was shown a second yellow card in stoppage time.
